Finalists Project:Wonder Earth

Finalists Team:Go Green

Introduction:Our project target is using Climate Smart Agriculture approach by providing climate services to help rice farmers to adapt and mitigate climate change while increasing yield production sustainably and reducing greenhouse gas effects. We conducted a survey and sent it to the farmers to understand their thinking. To fill up the gap between the farmers’ needs and the disadvantages of current climate service, Wonder Agro is developed to raise more awareness about climate change, how sustainable farming could make an impact, and help farmers to adapt and mitigate climate change.

WILD TO DIET

Finalists Project:wild to diet

WILD GROUP

Finalists Team:VEGES

Introduction:This video was prepared to show the narrative of the 2021 Taiwan Climate Change Innovation Competition project, which was carried out by 3 international students from Evergreen Christian University. The project is called WILD TO DIET because it promotes wild edible plants and aims to minimize carbon dioxide emissions, help solve food security issues, and adapt to the problems caused by climate change. The project covers two cities in two countries, Tainan-Taiwan and Dar es Salaam-Tanzania. We believe that the earth is a good place and worth fighting for.

Finalists Project:Still got the blue

Finalists Team:Carson

Introduction:Seagrasses are found in shallow salty and brackish waters, from the tropics to the Arctic Circle. They are called ecosystem engineers because they possess the capacity to modify and create unique habitats which allow to make coastal more suitable for and develop important impact on other animals as well providing ecological functions and a variety of services for humans. In general people should be conscious about the importance of their functions and by that be aware to preserve the oceans ecosystems, avoiding pollution and through a museum we show and educate people on this topic.

Finalists Project:Biochar from waste mushroom compost

Finalists Team:Biochar from waste mushroom compost

Introduction:This work converted waste mushroom compost into a carbon-negative material (biochar) using electronic oven at low temperature, and to explore its reuse in the agricultural and energy applications. Furthermore, the energy input came from raw biomass energy and external photovoltaic system during the thermochemical process. In brief, this novel approach can be considered as a climate change toolkit, not only reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases by carbon sequestration through biochar, but also achieving the goals of total recycling and carbon-negative material production.
